Robert Hunt in his studio

About Robert Hunt:
Robert Hunt received a Bachelor's degree in Art History from the University of California and a Master's degree in Illustration from the Academy of Art in San Francisco. As described by Walt Reed in the most recent edition of "The Illustrator in America", "His work reflects his classical training, but with a contemporary take."

He has created illustrations for a wide variety of projects including editorial illustrations for many major publications, hundreds of book covers, and numerous special projects including the Dreamworks logo and motion logos, advertisements, annual reports, packaging, and documentary projects on the Bay Bridge Earthquake reconstruction and the Tour de France.
He has received numerous awards, including the 2015 Hamilton King award, and the 2017 Distinguished Educator in the Arts award from the New York Society of Illustrators. His work has appeared regularly in the Society of Illustrator's Annual exhibits at the Museum of American Illustration, as well as American Illustration, Spectrum Fantastic Art, and the Communication Arts, Graphis and Print Design and Illustration Annuals. His work is part of many private and corporate collections.

Robert Hunt is also an Associate Professor at the California College of the Arts (Formerly CCAC.) where he teaches Illustration, professional practice and painting.

About the work:
The finished artwork on this site was is painted in oil and digitally photographed with a system that allows high resolution museum quality files of paintings immediately upon completion, or in progress, regardless of drying time. Because of this, turnaround times for illustration work can be as little as one day.
